Working in schools, colleges and with other organisations supporting children and young people, I have run circle times, weekly group sessions and workshops on diverse personal, emotional, mental health and sexual health topics.
Considering feelings, personal and intimate human connections can be tricky stuff. In the past I have worked as a nursing assistant and as a medical journalist. I have listened and been part of communications on many aspects of human health. Very little embarrasses me. Without prejudice, I can help people to explore sensitive and diverse topics appropriate to different ages and stages of emotional development.
In 2020, the UK Government made it a statutory requirement for all secondary schools to provide relationship and sex education to pupils and for primary schools to provide relationship education. This is so our children and young people can be properly informed and can make better and healthier choices around relationships both real and online.
Working as a counsellor and trainer in my previous staff job for a national LGBTQ+ charity, I have supported individuals and groups on topics such as relationships, diversity and difference, change and transition, feelings and emotional resilience.
If your school or organisation would like help exploring these or other topics to support their personal, health and emotional development and understanding, please contact me.
